Summer is Here and All is Well
Summer is here, and all is well
Tagging along as usual with life’s ups and downs
Strangers come
Then they go
Like conversations and emotions
A hiker’s knee re-injury dampens his spirit
Maybe he’ll make it, maybe not
Trudging along, a 62-year-old catches up
To the few he recognizes
Oh, how sweet the Pacific Crest Trail
Not when sweat overtakes one’s body
Then reaches the herd
Yikes, may you please excuse me?
Higher than-usual costs add up
Eight to ten thousand dollars
Thoughts exchange
On Southern California sites
Among Norwegians and Arizonians alike
Norway’s pleasing
Arizona swelters
The journey of life is lovely as the sunset
Sweet as a gardener’s plucked basil
Cool as the evening breeze
And unpredictable like thunder
Contradictions do exist,
By the way.
A change in perspective does one good,
Like right now.
Summer is here, and all is well.
Happy Summer!
Thanks for reading.
