Six Reasons Passion is Important
Have you ever met someone and wondered what it is about them that’s unique?
I can guarantee you that the person has a passion for something.
Passionate people exude confidence and have a zest for life. They throw themselves at work, forgetting time. The passionate give it their all.
Vincent Van Gogh once said, “I would rather die of passion than of boredom.”
If only he knew his worth. His masterpiece Starry Night is now valued at 100 million dollars.
Passionate individuals attract others because they’re good at what they do. They also don’t complain much and go about doing their thing, whatever it is.
LUCKY ARE THOSE WHO HAVE FOUND THEIR PASSION.
Look at these individuals’ passion.
Walt Disney’s passion was entertainment.
Michael Jordan’s passion was basketball.
Both Walt Disney and Michael Jordan encountered obstacles. Yet, they overcame them because of passion(at least, that’s what I believe, and others would agree).

PASSION DETAILS
What is passion?
According to Dr. Robert Vallerand,
“Passion is a strong inclination towards a self-defining activity that people love, that they consider important, and in which they devote significant amounts of time and energy.” (www.weforum.org)
Merriam-Webster defines passion as enthusiasm.
“Passion is who you are and not just what you do.”
Michael Jordan expresses passion in this way,
“The greatest thing about the game of basketball to me is the passion and the love I have for it. Because when you have a love for anything, you’ll go to the extreme to maintain that level…
To be the best at anything, you’ve got to have a certain love for that to make you overcome all the obstacles that will be thrown in your way.”
Why passion matters.
It…

5. Demonstrates self-care (you care about what matters to you) (Source: www.community.thriveglobal.com)
6. Brightens our world and makes it a better place
Steve Jobs once stated, “People with passion can change the world for the better.”
A LOOK AT MUSICIANS
Composers are some of the most passionate people I take great delight in. What they sometimes produce is beyond comprehension.
I know a composer who (years before I met him) got out of a coma when he heard his music play. Did his passion have something to do with it? I don’t know. But I want to say yes.
Whenever my husband and I visit, our friend reaches for his organ. Then, with much delight, he strikes the keys. His face lights up, which is fascinating to watch.
Passion is contagious.
Hang around passionate people, and “they will inspire you to follow your dreams.” (Source: www.lifehack.org)
And so, what passion do you bring?
Self-awareness is essential, as well as your happiness and fulfillment.
