Nurtured by Faith
A while ago, I purchased a beautiful wooden plaque that embodies the following scripture passage:
“The joy of the Lord is your strength” Nehemiah 8:10.
The painting's focal features two North American Robins perched on a branch. One of the birds is about to feed her three nestlings with their mouths wide open. From the bird, I gather that God, too, provides for his children and sustains them.
The scripture passage above is helping me at this moment. The interior of my book is taking a long time. As a result, I missed a book award opportunity and a Christmas market event that brought huge crowds, and I also had to cancel a couple of book events. I’ve given up on rescheduling for now. When all else fails, whom do I have but my God? He brings me much joy.
I’m aware that it took God some time to create the heavens and earth, and I can’t imagine anything different when it comes to the creation of my book if anything good is to come out of it. I could pressure the designer like my friend suggested, but what good will that do?
Long before I became a writer, I found myself surrendering to God. I learned that things happen in God’s time, not mine. So, I patiently wait for the day my book design is complete and my book comes out. In the meantime, I revel in God. After all, he’s everything to me.
Thanks for reading.
