Crazy Things Parents Have Done
My daughter's obsession with One Direction and Five Seconds of Summer in high school drove me up the wall. I was that mother who went everywhere to help my daughter scout these individuals.
Ok, I’ll be honest…I was happy driving my daughter around because she was overjoyed.
On one particular day, we spent the night at the airport. Sam Smith went right past me with his cool glasses, and so did Mario Lopez. Once Five Seconds of Summer arrived, the bodyguard gave me a look that could kill.
On another occasion, we lined up outside this hotel, waiting for One Direction to come out of their black SUV.
It never happened.
However, we spent the night at the hotel the group allegedly stayed at. Come to find out, the group sat at the table we plopped down for dinner the night before. We had missed One Direction by one day.
All of this was insane, and I must admit I was crazy. Maybe I’m still crazy, but I caught a glimpse of another mother and was happy to discover that I wasn’t the only nutty one.
Here’s the good that came out of the madness.
It was the beginning of my daughter’s reading enjoyment. A year ago, she admitted to staying up late reading a One Direction fanfic called “After.”
This was my One Direction and Five Seconds of Summer experience with my daughter. However, I asked other parents to share their stories.
Below are some crazy things parents have done.
