Introduction

Building a dream is not easy, but I’m thrilled to say I’ve done it and learned a lot about the publishing business. The following is a list of 36 things I learned along the way, many of which are a blessing.

  14. It’s taught me that writing is a worthy art.
  15. It’s taught me that people can destroy your dream if you let them.

Here’s more of what I’ve learned.

  1. Patience.
  2. Flexibility.
  3. Decision-making.
  4. People are interested in what I do.
  5. Not everyone is supportive.
  6. It takes a bit of money to publish independently.
  7. Publishing is not an easy undertaking.
  8. Not to let others interfere with my vision of the story.
  9. All things are possible.
  10. When I reach a goal or a dream, I must keep going.
  11. It’s a lonely world at times.
  12. How to confront my fears.
  13. Fears are real.
  14. How to be courageous.
  15. Help is available.
  16. Things won’t always go as planned.
  17. To call on God.
  18. To depend on God.
  19. To have greater faith.

The greatest of lessons:

  1. Dreams do come true.
  2. Most importantly, I’ve learned that God is faithful and that all glory belongs to Him who has stood beside me throughout my book’s publication.

Conclusion

Writing a book from scratch and without any knowledge of the publishing business has been a learning experience, and I continue to grow. I hope the blessings I received from publishing a book have inspired you in some way. With a good mindset and a desire to achieve, you can do anything.
