I’m excited to share my joy and gratitude with you today. My book has been released, and it feels surreal.
To my illustrator, you’re the best. To my reader, who has stood by me during these last four years, thank you so much. To my God, my rock, you are ever so faithful. To my husband and children, thank you for your love and unwavering support. To my extended family and friends, you mean so much to me. Last but not least, to my tech guy, editor, book designers, and printing company, you are amazing. I couldn’t have done this without you.
What more is there to life than to take it all in and enjoy this moment with you? It’s a wonderful feeling to have created a book and realized my dream of publishing — a dream that not too long ago seemed distant and came with its own share of challenges.
Fear got in the way, but I eventually confronted it when I opened the box. The book looked good, thank God!
I’m literally lost for words. If words can convey a lot, pictures say even more, as in the example below.
I walked into a store, and a man seemed curious about my book, so I went to my car to get it. When I returned, the man sifted through the book and said, “With no offense to you, the illustrations are what’s grabbing my attention more than the words themselves,” he added. “It’s a picture book, and the illustrations should do that.” I replied, “Maybe you don’t like to read.” His wife then commented on how the illustrations looked real. “It’s not your typical book,” she said.
