Multiple Updates from Elvira
Kids Day went well. The children had so much fun, which melted my heart. At times, I tried hard to hold back tears. A few football players, their coach, and my husband helped set up the tents while my illustrator and her mom organized the activities. Word must have gone out because children headed straight to the treasure boxes. I also had the chance to meet fabulous parents.
A lot is going on with my book launch.
My book cover will be revealed soon, and I’m excited about a couple of book signings that have been scheduled. I’m currently working on my illustrator’s interview, a book trailer, and other things. We are also in the middle of switching to a new website.
Don’t think I’m bragging, but I was recently interviewed for a magazine. What good timing!
Let’s talk fall.
There’s something about fall I never liked as a child, but that’s changed. I will tell you why later. Anyways, fall is here, and I wish you so much joy and happiness. Curl up with a good book, stay warm, and take the time out for yourself to do whatever you want.
“Do whatever you want” reminds me of Kids Day, where I told the children they could do whatever they wanted because it was their day. Well, here’s what happened.
A boy continuously splashed water all over my poor illustrator while the mom watched and laughed. I must add that the illustrator was very patient while filling the water balloons and operating the duck station. Both the illustrator and her mother brought so much joy that day.
Isn’t happiness what life is all about?
Take care,
Elvira
